Goldie Quilt SAL - Week 4

Goldie Quilt SAL - Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of the Goldie Quilt SAL! Now that we have made our first block, it is time to rinse and repeat! We will be making two Goldie blocks each week for the next four weeks.
If you are just joining, welcome! Be sure to check out the Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 blogposts. Also, grab a Goldie Quilt pattern in the shop!
Pick any two Goldie block piles and let's get sewing!

Week 4: Post a photo of your two new Goldie Blocks to show your progress! Be sure to use the #goldiesal hashtag to be entered into this week's giveaway.
You must post by Thursday February 23rd at 11:59pm PST to be entered into the Week 4 giveaway. Each week starts fresh on Fridays and the previous weeks post won't count for the next week's prize.
The weekly prizes will be the same throughout the SAL. One person will win the opportunity to get a 15 piece FQ bundle from me! You will be contacted when you win and then you get to let me know the color palette you are interested in - all blues, neutrals, rainbow, etc. And I will take your idea and build you a bundle! You get to also tell me if you want all solids, all prints or a mix. I can't wait to specially curate a new bundle each week! And yes, this is open to international participants.
Here is a photo of the Week 2 Giveaway Winner's bundle. She told me she loved bright colors, rainbows and prints but maybe needed some more solids and low volume fabrics to round out her stash. I love how bold and happy this FQ bundle is!

LET'S SEW!

These next several weeks are copy and paste, rinse and repeat, peanut butter and jelly, you get the picture. ;) We are focusing on sewing two Goldie blocks per week. We don't have any scheduled "off weeks" in this SAL but if you fall behind on one week, I think there is enough time to catch up in a following week.
Also, if you want to try batch sewing your two Goldie blocks this is a great time to try that. And by that I mean, instead of working one Goldie block at a time, you will work in Goldie sections. You can sew and trim all of your HSTs together to speed up efficiency (just remember which HSTs go to which block), you can make both Large 9 Patches for each block, etc. Then when all of your units are ready, you can speed through the Goldie block assembly.
We worked block by block and got these two amazing Goldie blocks. One of them has a gold floral background print some Ruby Star Society and the other is Acid Lime by Robert Kaufman. The change in background fabrics in each block is really fun and satisfying.

And here are all three Goldie blocks we have created so far!

We have 6 more blocks to go after this week and I am thrilled to see them fill my Instagram feed!
